PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Children's Center at Park Hill United Methodist was formed in 1979 by church members who saw the need for a quality
childcare/preschool program in the Park Hill neighborhood. Our non-profit program was created as an outreach ministry
for the community with a non-denominational curriculum and philosophy. Children of any religious and/or cultural background
are welcomed into our program. The center is licensed by the State of Colorado for children ages two and a half
to twelve years old. We are proud of the great reputation that we have earned serving our Denver metropolitan community.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
The Children's Center believes in each child's individuality and that each child is special. Each child deserves
respect, attention and the best developmentally-appropriate experiences that our Early Childhood Education program can provide.
Each child must be provided with an opportunity to grow in a safe, loving and encouraging environment. The Children's
Center serves as a support system to help our families raise well-adjusted children. Each child's success now, or in
the future, depends on the close collaboration of teachers and parents who support the child's social, emotional, and physical
growth.
CHILDREN'S CENTER CURRICULUM GOALS INCLUDE:
- To help each child learn to make choices, decisions
and to solve problems
- To develop caring relationships with others through sharing and interactions with
other children and adults.
- To develop each child's listening skills through music, reading and various audio
techniques.
- To work on physical and emotional development through all of the activities of the school.
-
To obtain experiences in language, art, math, drama and science and to learn about cultures around the world.
-
To encourage healthful eating habits through good nutrition and appropriate table manners.
